Collision, Exploration of Gea is the first installment of a strategy and role-playing war game set in the fantasy world of Gea, a super continent heavily saturated with magical energies. In this unique game system, players are free to use 28mm scale miniatures from virtually any game or company, and are encouraged to use existing armies, making it extremely affordable to pick up and play. Players can use a host of pre-written units that fit the existing factions and story of Collision, or use a faction and unit creation system to build their own from scratch. This way players have full creative control over the rules and appearance of their battle groups, and prevents armies or factions will be made obsolete by new expansions, as players can always change their unit rules to accommodate new rules changes.
The game can be played in two ways: Pickup Games, or Empire Games.
Pickup games are individual battles that can be played quickly and easily with up to 8 players at once, ranging from the smallest scout groups to massive war-bands. These shorter games are played using a multi-objective scenario system that encourages players to use versatile forces, as players are fighting to accomplish not one objective but three, and accomplishing one does not guarantee victory.
Empire Games are can range from a series of battles, to an all-out war, where players create an entire faction rather than just a war-band. Factions fight across a map to gather land and resources, and units gain experience and learn new techniques as they win battles. This adds a deep role-playing element that strategy gamers and role-playing gamers alike can get behind. These campaigns can be played with local gaming groups or even across the web, to strengthen the community and build new long-distance friendships.
In this blog, I will be posting progress updates for Collision, hobby articles, and test game reports for this blossoming new game to keep you all updated. Next week I'll reveal my plans for release, along with a hobby article on building a battlefield for Collision!
